Erica Stacey

Erica Stacey (Design Director)

After working as a creative pattern cutter and designer for some very well known high street brands for the past decade, Erica set up a bespoke dress making business two years ago, Erica Stacey Couture, which has flourished.

Erica believes it is critical to listen to her clients carefully, and has come to realise that not every bride wants a dress with a strapless bodice on their special day.

She understands as a woman that we all have our best bits which we want to flaunt and our less favourite bits we want to disguise. After gaining a BA(Hons) in Fashion Design with Product Development, Erica would admit a slight obsession with the science of garment construction and understanding how different fabrics behave.

Erica has always loved creating different shapes and silhouettes around the female form. Inspired by Art Deco, the Golden Hollywood Era, and of course her dear Nanna Ellen, who made dresses for Harrods, she has sourced luxurious fabrics and trims, including silks and unusual laces from all over the world and has designed her first ready to wear wedding dress collection, which she hopes will be loved by brides who are looking for something incredibly pretty and feminine.

Terry Keane

Terry Keane (Technical Director)

Terry attended college in Liverpool, where he studied pattern cutting and garment construction in ladies and gents tailoring. During the course he also learned about textile science and design gaining City and Guilds qualifications in all of these areas.

In these early years Terry made clothes for himself, family and friends. He was able to demonstrate these skills when asked to stand as best man for his good friend Tony in 1988. Moments after agreeing Terry was also asked if he would make the bridesmaids dresses!

His 30 years experience in the industry has covered many areas such as pattern creation, pattern grading and marker making on various CAD systems. He has travelled to manufacturing bases in China, Sri Lanka, North Africa and Europe. He has advised global manufacturers supplying the UK high street on methods to improve fabric utilisation through implementation of the most cost effective systems and procedures.

Having joined a thriving UK clothing industry in the early 1980s and witnessed firsthand its demise Terry strongly believes there is a growing appetite for English designed and manufactured bridal gowns. Although his career in the clothing industry has taken him away from the sewing machine Terry has never lost his passion for garment construction. The opportunity to work with Erica in creating beautifully designed and manufactured bridal ranges was impossible to resist.

His broad knowledge of the industry aligned to Erica’s design and technical excellence has resulted in a very formidable partnership and made the decision to launch a unique and beautifully crafted bridal range an easy one.
